College to provide basic education at Kent jail
Beginning Spring Quarter, Seattle Central is providing GED preparation and Adult Basic Education classes for incarcerated individuals at the Maleng Regional Justice Center (MRJC) in Kent. The college will provide instruction, testing and coordination of classes at MRJC, and help students identify educational opportunities beyond GED completion. These courses represent an expansion of Seattle Central’s partnership with the King County Regional Justice System, as the college has provided GED preparation classes at the King County Adult Detention Center in downtown Seattle for 30 years.
