Academic and Career Services

College is a time for learning, but it’s also a great opportunity to think about your future career path. Seattle Central has a number of supportive departments dedicated to helping you get the most out of your time here.

  • Academic Advising works with students on long-range educational planning to help them stay on track with their program requirements and academic goals.
  • Career Services Center offers workshops, job fairs and one-on-one support to help students identify career paths and find their dream job.
  • Computer Services Center has several on-campus computer labs with both PC and Apple computers with access to printing and a variety of software tools.
  • College Transfer Center assists students transferring to a four-year college or university including helping with the college search and admissions process.
  • Learning Support Network provides tutoring services in a variety of subjects to help students increase their confidence and improve their performance in the classroom.

Student Resources and Support

We hope that every student will enjoy their time at Seattle Central and beyond, but we also recognize that college brings a number of unique challenges – and that everyone’s personal situation is different.

  • College Success Program works with students who have been in foster care giving them tailored support for navigating college, creating a support network and accessing resources.
  • Disability Support Services provides counseling, advising and accommodations for students with a disability.
  • Financial resources, including Financial Aid, are available for students to help offset the cost of tuition and other expenses.
  • MESA- Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement (MESA) offers academic and professional services to underrepresented students studying science, technology, engineering or math who want to transfer to four-year institutions.
  • Multicultural Services supports students of color and diverse cultural backgrounds. Students can take advantage of leadership opportunities and help develop programs, projects and curriculum that promote diversity, equality and social justice at Seattle Central.
  • Student Leadership provides opportunities for engagement outside of the classroom with a range of extracurricular opportunities including legislative action, social justice, global awareness, sports and games, communications and journalism, academic development and more.
  • Student Parent Support connects students with childcare resources including funding, parent information and services referrals.
  • TRiO works with first–generation and low-income students as well as students with disabilities to help them complete an associate degree and transfer to a four–year college or university.
  • Women’s Programs provides students with housing resources and emergency funding for supplies and transportation. They also organize events that builds campus and community awareness around the issue of gender.
  • Workforce Services and Funding can help students enrolled a career-focused Professional/Technical program with tuition assistance, educational planning and advising, supplies, transportation assistance and more.
  • Veteran’s Services provides veterans and their dependents a network of support to help them successfully navigate the transition from military to college life.
