Environmental Health & Safety

Seattle Central College places a high value on the safety and health of all students, employees, and visitors to our campuses. To this end, the college employs an Environmental Health and Safety Manager committed to providing a safe workplace via partnerships with all departments and an open-door policy that encourages communication and cooperative problem solving.

Some of the responsibilities of this office include, but are not limited to:

  • Hazardous waste identification and disposal
  • Investigation of workplace safety concerns
  • Identification and disposal of universal waste (e.g. batteries and fluorescent bulbs)
  • Development of guidelines for employee safety plans and programs
  • Delivering safety training and orientation
