Entry Requirements
As an open-admission institution, Seattle Central College generally accepts every student who applies. Anyone 18 or older or who is a high school graduate or has passed the GED® Exam may attend Seattle Central College.
- If you are younger than 18, but at least 16 years old, you may submit an underage petition.
- If you are younger than 18 or are still in high school, you may apply to our High School programs.
- If you are older than 19 and do not have a high school diploma, you may enroll in our High School Completion program.
- If you are an International Student, visit International Programs.
- If you attended Seattle Central before and less than three years have passed, you are a Returning Student and may not need to reapply to the college.

Preparing to Apply
While you can apply at any time, there are a few questions to consider that may help you save time and money in the long run.
First Year: You are a first-time student if you have no previous college experience. You have graduated high school or received your GED and are ready to start college for the first time.
Reapplying: Welcome back! If it has been more than three years since you've taken a class at Seattle Central College, you need to reapply to Seattle Central. Visit Returning Student for next steps.
Transfer: You've attended college, with or without graduating, but have not attended Seattle Central College.
Academic: You are seeking an associate's degree to enter the workforce after graduating or plan to transfer to a four-year college or university.
Baccalaureate: You are seeking a Bachelor's of Applied Science (BAS) degree.
Non-Award Seeking: You aren't looking for a degree or certificate, but are interested in continuing education, professional development, self-enrichment, and/or to transfer to your home institution. Note: This program type is not eligible for Financial Aid.
Professional Technical: Also known as, Career Training, you are seeking a certificate or degree in an in-demand field. You know what career you want and are looking for a tailored, hands-on program to prepare you.
Transitional Studies: You are seeking programs that provide the education needed to prepare for college and career readiness.
