Hands-On, Real World Training
With advances in wood science, our Wood Technology Center continues to expand allowing for more opportunities in wood construction professions. Our Center enrolls approximately 120 students per quarter, from high school students to working adults to retirees; most students arrive with no prior woodworking experience. Our experienced instructors emphasize safety, attention to detail, and quality craftsmanship through specialized training, new skill sets, and hands-on tool and material work, which you can use to build toward a rewarding career.
In our programs you will discover the luster and luxury of hand-crafted boats, custom homes, original cabinets, and more. You will receive all-inclusive core training including safety, skills, tools, and materials. You can earn an Associate of Applied Science degree or a Certificate of completion in Cabinetmaking, Carpentry, or Marine Carpentry. We also offer evening classes for those who are interested in learning do-it-yourself skills.
As a student in the Wood Technology Center, you will join Seattle Central College, one of America’s top five community colleges, known nationally for its innovative educational programs and services. Seattle Central serves about 10,000 students each quarter. It has full accreditation from the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges.
