The Specialty Desserts & Breads program accepts new students fall, winter, and spring quarters, based on space availability and eligibility. This is a full-time program with classes four days a week. The Specialty Desserts and Breads program is five quarters.
Before entry and placement on the “program ready” list, students must show successful completion of college-level English composition and college-level math (MAT 110 is also acceptable).
Procedure for Admissions to the Culinary Arts and Specialty Desserts and Breads programs
- Complete an admissions application online or in person at Seattle Central, room 1104.
- Take the Compass placement tests for reading, writing and math.** Our Testing Office is located in room 1106, phone (206) 934-6344. For additional information about the testing office please see their web page.
**If you’ve already successfully completed college-level English composition AND college-level math, the Compass placement tests are not necessary but an official college transcript(s) is.
**If you have not completed a college-level English composition OR college-level math class, you will need to complete that portion of the Compass test.
- Once you have completed your English and math requirements, OR have official college transcript(s) to verify your successful completion of college-level English composition and college-level math, contact the Workforce Manager, firstname.lastname@example.org, (206) 934-4188, room 1102 C7, who can place your name on the “program ready” list if you are eligible for entry into our programs.
Students are placed on the “program ready” list on a first come, first serve basis after they have completed the admissions process and requirements and show eligibility to enter our programs. We draw from that list for our first-quarter students.
The Seattle Culinary Academy highly recommends that prospective students interested in our programs attend an information session and tour.
