New Vice President of Administrative Services to join Seattle Central College

Seattle Central College is pleased to announce the hiring of Mr. Bruce Riveland as its new vice president of administrative services. In this role, he will manage the college’s business operations, including information technology, facilities, capital projects, campus safety, as well as Mainstay, which connects people with disabilities with gainful employment.

“I am confident that Bruce’s background in organizational development, management and finance will make him a strong asset to our administrative team,” said Interim President Dr. Sheila Edwards Lange.

Riveland most recently worked at Olympic College, where he served under the same title for the past four years. Prior to his tenure at Olympic College, he worked in leadership positions at Bellevue College as the North Campus Dean of Continuing Education, and at Green River Community College as the Executive Director of the Kent Campus.

He holds both a Master of Arts in organizational communication and a Bachelor of Arts in speech communication from the University of Washington. He also has experience teaching communications at the college level.

Riveland, who will begin on September 28, fills the vacancy left by the departure of Michael Pham, the previous vice president of administrative services.
