Alum’s research findings reported in New York Times

Seattle Central’s 2014 Distinguished Alumna is in the news once again. An assistant professor of Human Evolutionary Biology at Harvard University, Katie Hinde, Ph.D. has just published a new study that examines the nutrients in the mother’s milk of primates. The New York Times wrote an article reporting the findings, quoting Katie several times.

Katie was a student in Seattle Central’s College Transfer program in the late nineties before transferring to the University of Washington to earn a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology. She eventually completed a doctoral degree at the University of California at Davis and landed a coveted professorship at Harvard, one of the most prestigious universities in the world. Read more about Katie’s journey, as well as the address she delivered at the college’s commencement ceremony this past June.
