Driving Directions

If heading North or South on INTERSTATE 5 (I-5): take the 45th Street NE exit (also labeled University of Washington exit); at traffic light located at top of exit ramp turn onto 45th Street NE and head west; stay on 45th Street NE as it heads towards Ballard; 45th Street NE is an arterial that runs through the neighborhoods of Wallingford and Fremont before reaching Ballard; please be aware that this arterial meanders slightly so do not inadvertently turn off it; as you approach Ballard 45th Street NE will automatically change names to NW Market Street (following a long downward slope); stay on NW Market Street until it intersects 14th Avenue NW; there is a traffic light at this intersection and a McDONALD's restaurant on the southeast corner; turn left onto 14th Avenue NW and head south until road terminates at public boat ramp; turn right onto Shilshole Avenue NW and proceed about 300 feet; campus entrance is on the left halfway between the end of 14th Avenue NW and Ballard Bridge (look for anchor and sign); park in any available space in parking lot along fence.

If coming from SEA-TAC AIRPORT: follow access highway out of airport (about one mile); favor the center lane or left lane; bear to left when access highway divides following the signs for Highway 518 to Burien; take Highway 518 to Highway 509; exit from Highway 518 onto Highway 509 when sign for Seattle appears (this will occur just before first traffic light); exit is on right side of highway; once on Highway 509 head north into south Seattle and follow it to drawbridge crossing Duwamish River; proceed across drawbridge down to intersection with traffic light; turn left onto Highway 99; at this point Highway 99 is a multi-lane road with several traffic lights and traverses the industrial district; continue north on Highway 99 into downtown Seattle; please note that after 2-3 miles it will become more like a highway and will be elevated at times; stay on Highway 99 through downtown Seattle and through tunnel; after tunnel continue north on Highway 99 out of Seattle; please note that Highway 99 gradually climbs upward until it crests on top of Queen Anne Hill just before the Aurora Avenue Bridge; continue on Highway 99 across bridge but get into right lane; take immediate right exit after bridge; as you come off exit ramp bear to left; after stop sign turn left and go under overpass following arterial as it veers right leading down to an intersection with traffic light; stay in left lane; drive straight through intersection (but on a diagonal angle) and then gently turn left onto North 39th Street; stay on North 39th Street and head west until next traffic light (you'll drive through a residential area); at traffic light turn right onto Leary Way NW; stay on Leary Way NW until second traffic light which is the intersection of Leary Way NW and 14th Avenue NW; there is a large OFFICE MAX store on the southeast corner; turn left onto 14th Avenue NW and head south until road terminates at public boat ramp (about four blocks); turn right onto Shilshole Avenue NW and proceed about 300 feet; campus entrance is on the left halfway between the end of 14th Avenue NW and Ballard Bridge (look for anchor and sign); park in any available space in parking lot along fence.
