The Technology
Exciting new challenges face an industry in which technology innovations have revolutionized visual mass communication. Whole professions were erased within a decade by new forms of print media, making way for new job titles, such as Web Page Designer and Preflight Technician.
Publishing Arts responds to these changes with an education in cross-media digital workflow processes built on a solid base of classic technical skills, from software basics to color theory and image reproduction. Students really learn their stuff, on both Mac and PC platforms.
Business standards inform every page of the regularly-updated curriculum. With strong support from industry partners, the program satisfies the most exacting graphic arts pros. Students use the latest computer-to-plate techology, image large format posters, and publish art for the public. Now, they can even create letterpress projects, celebrating an old technology with a fresh face, thanks to new digital methods. Publishing Arts graduates, who have earned a superb reputation, continue their contributions to strengthen and transform the graphic arts.
The Publishing Arts program ensures that we all have access to the latest technology. Seeing my creations go from a small PDF to a 44-inch poster is awesome.

We've created a comfortable learning environment where everyone's needs are met. Small class size and the latest software and equipment give me time to concentrate on each student individually; students can learn about the latest technology from a teacher who's more effective.
