| COURSE DESCRIPTION: An introductory course for students who need a working knowledge of elementary statistics or who need to prepare for more advanced statistics coursework, but who do not necessarily have a strong mathematical background. Descriptive methods, probability and probability distributions, samples, decisions, hypothesis testing, statistical inferences, analysis of variance and regression applications. COURSE OBJECTIVES: To introduce students to current statistical methods and data analysis; the role of statistics in society; and the application of computations, decision-making skills, and mathematical techniques in their everday lives.
