Teaching and Learning Center

Seattle Central’s Technology Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) is located in Room 3111 of the Broadway Edison Building. It is dedicated to the development of our faculty and staff. The TLC exists to provide access to current and emerging technologies and the innovative hands-on technology training, skills, and support needed for use of these technologies. We encourage you to explore options, the use of multiple delivery methods, and to share your ideas and successes with others.

Workshops

We encourage you to attend Free Technology workshops (for SCCD employees). Professional development is vital to the continued success of the college. Join us for a variety of (25-30) “Hands-On” courses are offered each quarter. You may view the entire detailed schedule and register on-line, via e-mail or phone Judy at 587-6943. New (or not so new)trying to figure out how to: get going with e-mail, instructor briefcase/rosters/grades, What online resources are available, and what logins are needed to use them? How do I get a website for class? Need help with applications(Office 07, Web Design software, Google Apps, Camtasia, etc...) want to learn/practice something new, need follow-up to a training session to complete your project or better incorporate what you learned, or just looking for new ideas-please stop by the TLC lab-Room 3111! You took that Excel class but didn't quite get that Grades spreadsheet up and going yet? You would love a simple website for students but have not quite gotten there yet? Come visit, we can help. You may also make an appointment.

• One IMAC
• Monochrome and color laser printers
• Scanners for text and photos for PCs and Macintosh
• Zip drives, CD-R/W drives. Bring your own thumb drives
• Digital video camera available for check out with media
• Video editing station
• One PC that is networked to the student server for Faculty use.
