To report a problem with any hardware or software on Central Campus, please contact the IT Services Helpdesk (NEED). For your convenience, there are 3 easy ways to do this:

  1. Online Problem Report

    To use the online problem report form you MUST have a valid Seattle Central e-mail address.

  2. Email: NEED@sccd.ctc.edu
  3. Phone: 587-6333

Our helpdesk staff will record the problem and it will be assigned to a staff member. In the event that someone is not immediately available to answer the phone, please DO leave a message.

Please be ready to provide the following information when reporting a problem:

  • CCS number (employee equipment) OR

    SCS number (student equipment) of the computer or peripheral

  • Your FIRST and LAST name
  • The location of the equipment
  • A phone number where you can be contacted

NOTE: We are unable to provide help or support for personally owned equipment.

Please also call NEED with requests for software or hardware installation, network wiring, and assistance in using Central Campus hardware or software. Helpdesk staff will also record your request for an employee e-mail or web page account.

Description : I am still unable to access documents in WebExtender, and have discovered that some of my Advising colleagues are unable to as well. (CCS #2757, 2765, and 4645) We are able to login to WebEx, and see that there are transcripts, but when we click to open the transcripts, what comes up is a blank screen with a red ?X? in the top left corner.

Description : Open~20 crashed yesterday (common random shutdown error) while student Jesse Conlan (jconla01) was using it. As is typical, he was unable to log in right away due to "too many simultaneous logins." After this he was not able to login for the rest of the day because of the same error message. This morning, he tried logging into the same computer in the Library, and received the same "simultaneous logins" error. Since he wasn't able to login within the 20 minute server reset time, and he was STILL not able to login this morning, I was unable to tell him anything useful. I know this is a student account problem, but the student needs access to his O:\ Drive, ASAP.

Description : Laptop cords in 4148...all rooms || I use my laptop in class and I have yet to find a [video] cord that is long enough to be effective for using my laptop. All of them are so short that it is difficult to use my laptop in class. I use the tablet feature of the laptop in class which requires that I be in a semi comfortable position with my laptop. As is this is very difficult if not impossible. Also, in other rooms, I have noticed that the cord for the head phone jack isn't long enough to reach the plug in on the laptop when the VGA is connected. Could you at least fix the cord to make it longer in room BE 4148?

Description : [Need] to conduct a pilot using the COMPASS eWrite test. I understand that doing so requires that we have the web-based COMPASS test, and use that for all COMPASS testing. Please let me know what would be required from IT for that conversion (Aimee is taking care of the COMPASS side), as well as questions or concerns we think we need to take into account.

Description : I just received a notification for ACT, Inc., in the mail, that there is an update for the COMPASS Windows testing program, version 3.2.4. We?re currently using version 3.2.1, so we?re a bit behind. Could we have this updated? The sheet came with a url for release notes and installation instructions, and another for the actual download file, plus access passwords
