Although Seattle Central offers Fast Track: High School Completion, it is not a public high school. The college normally serves students 18 years of age or older. The average age of students at Seattle Central is 25. Under-age applicants who apply to Seattle Central should be motivated, independent, and prepared to both interact with older students, and to complete courses at the college level. Please consult with the international office for grade requirements from other countries. Official RecommendationApplicants under the age of 18 must also submit a recommendation from their high school counselor, indicating that they are mature and motivated enough to take college-level classes. Counselors must use the Under-Age Applicant Recommendation form. Liability Waiver Seattle Central strongly suggests that under-age students have an adult who can act on their behalf living in the United States . In the event of personal emergency, accident, illness, or incarceration, the State of Washington may require the signature of an adult before assistance (such as medical operations and legal counsel) can be offered. The College is not permitted to act in place of the parent or other responsible adult. Accommodations for Under-Age Students Students under the age of 18 are normally not able to rent an apartment or house in Washington State without a co-signing adult. Seattle Central strongly suggests that, unless students under the age of 18 will stay with family / friends that can act as responsible adults in the Seattle area, they make arrangements for accommodations through one of the homestay agencies on our website, which provides services for minors. All agencies on our website require that parents sign forms related to the provision of health care, and behavior agreements for minor students. If you would like more information on this requirement, please contact the homestay agencies directly.
