I studied High School Completion and then an Associate's Degree at the
Seattle Community Colleges. It was a great place for my first two years.
Especially the friendly people I've encountered in the Seattle Community
Colleges eased my adaptation period to a new country incredibly. I just
transferred to Washington State University with a scholarship! Now I am
finishing my B.S. in Genetics and Cell Biology at WSU.

During my two years at the Seattle Community Colleges, I have received
a great education and priceless experiences. SCC greatly contributed to
the achievement of my goals. I applied and I was awarded scholarships.
I have recently been accepted to Shorter College and received the
Eubanks Scholarship. I would like to earn a Bachelor's Degree in economics
and finance. Later, I plan to go to a graduate school to earn a Master's
Degree in international business.

I entered the Seattle Community Colleges right after high school graduation
in Japan. I started at ESL for two quarters. At the college level, I chose
the College Transfer Program because my goal of studying in the U.S. was
to transfer to graduate from a university. After graduating with an Associate
of Arts degree from SCCC, I transferred to Indiana University--Bloomington
with a major in business. I graduated from this university a couple of
years later with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business (major in Accounting
and Finance). From this September, I am scheduled to work for the New
York office of Deloitte&Touche, which is one of the four largest accounting
firms in the world.

I think the Student Development Transcript provided by Seattle Central Community College
is a great benefit for me and other international students. This program helps us get our
achievements and activities in various sectors of leadership and organizations in the school
recorded officially. I personally experienced this advantage when I applied for and received
a scholarship to complete my bachelor's degree. No wonder Seattle Central Community College
named as the College of the Year by TIME Magazine!.
