Current students will find a number of scholarship opportunities available throughout their time at Seattle Central.
International Education programs Division Scholarships
The International Education Programs Division offers several different scholarship opportunities for currently enrolled international students:
College Bridge Graduation Scholarship
Each quarter, the Seattle Central Institute of English awards scholarships to students who are graduating from the Seattle Central Institute of English and continuing in a college program at our college. Up to 3 scholarships of $1,000 will be awarded.
Eligibility:
- Current F-1 or M-1 visa students
- Expected completion of College Bridge 6 and Advanced Academic Writing in the current quarter (students currently enrolled in one of these classes who have already completed the other are eligible). Students in College Bridge 5 and/or Intermediate Academic Writing who expect to skip may apply, in consultation with instructors.

Deadlines:
Applications must be submitted to the International Student Center by 4:00 PM on the following dates:
Fall: November 8th
Winter: February 14th
Spring: May 15th
Summer: July 24th
If the established deadline falls on an official holiday or on a weekend, the deadline will change to the next business day.
Applicants will be notified of results during the Seattle Central Institute of English graduation ceremony. Eligibility for a scholarship does not guarantee an award. Scholarship decisions are made based on the merits of the applicant pool.

Merit Scholarship
Each quarter, our division awards scholarships to high achieving college-level students currently enrolled at Seattle Central. The scholarships are based solely on merit; consideration is not given to financial need. Award amounts range from $750 – 2000.
Eligibility:
- Current F-1 or M-1 visa students
- Completion of 45 or more college-level credits by the start of the award quarter
- Minimum overall GPA of 3.6 or higher

Global Diversity with Excellence Scholarship
Building on existing global initiatives, Johns Hopkins University - Carey Business School and Seattle Central Community College are launching a pilot scholarship program to encourage greater diversity among the students of our campuses.
At Seattle Central Community College, the scholarship covers tuition up to 15 credits for the last quarter of the two year Associate's Degree (for 2012-2013, this is approximately $3,200 in tuition waiver/scholarship if the recipient is enrolled full time).
At Johns Hopkins University - Carey Business School, the scholarship is $2,500 per year that a student maintains eligibility (3.5 cumulative GPA), for a maximum of 2 years, or $5,000 total.
Eligibility:
- Current F-1 or M-1 visa students from Brazil, Czech Republic, Germany, Ghana, France, India, Kazakhstan, Iraq, Peru, Russia, Rwanda, Sweden, Tanzania, and Turkey
- Completion of 60 college-level credits
- Minimum overall GPA of 3.5 or higher
- Applicants must begin taking college-level courses by Fall quarter 2014 at the latest in order to be eligible for this scholarship
A student who receives the award from Seattle Central Community College and maintains the required GPA upon completion of the Associate of Arts degree will be guaranteed the scholarship during the first year at Johns Hopkins University - Carey Business School and maintaining the GPA during the first year at Johns Hopkins University - Carey Business School ensures continuation of the scholarship for the last year.
At Johns Hopkins University - Carey Business School, initial eligibility is contingent upon completion of 90 quarter hours (60 semester hours) with a 3.5 or higher cumulative GPA prior to beginning classes at Carey. The scholarship will be disbursed every year that a student maintains eligibility (3.5 cumulative GPA), for a maximum of 2 years, or $5,000. You will receive further information from the Admissions office at Johns Hopkins University regarding applying your scholarship to your Johns Hopkins University tuition. Students must begin studies at Johns Hopkins University - Carey Business School at the latest by Fall 2016 to be eligible for this scholarship.

Deadlines:
Upon completion of your first 60 college level credits with a 3.5 or higher college level cumulative GPA, please submit the Global Diversity with Excellence Scholarship application form to the International Education Programs office by 4:00PM on the 10th day of the quarter after the 60 college credits have been earned.
Students must begin taking college-level courses at the latest by Fall 2014 in order to be eligible for this scholarship/waiver. For this initial pilot program, scholarships at Seattle Central Community College will not be distributed after Spring Quarter 2016, unless a new Scholarship program is announced.
Applicants will be notified of results by email within 10 business days from the application deadline. Recipients will receive directions on how the scholarship will be applied to their final quarter of tuition. It is very important that students follow the instructions provided, and not pay after registering for the final quarter of classes. In the event that a recipient already has a scholarship that applies to the last quarter of tuition, scholarships will never exceed the full cost of tuition (there are no “cash” payouts).
Seattle Central Foundation Scholarships
Each year, the Seattle Central Foundation offers a wide range of scholarships to Seattle Central students. Although availability of some scholarships is restricted to resident students, many are open to both resident and international students. Applications usually become available during Winter Quarter. Award decisions are made in Spring.
