SCIE Certificates

* Intermediate English Certificate: Receive this certificate after passing Reading/Writing/Grammar 3 and Speaking/Listening/Grammar 3.

This certificate allows a student to begin studying in College Bridge or Advanced English. This certificate indicates that students can comprehend authentic English and interact in complex social situations. They can participate in selected college courses with continuing ESL support.

* College Bridge Graduation Certificate: Receive this certificate after passing Advanced College Bridge and Advanced Academic Writing.

This certificate allows a student to begin full time college studies at Seattle Central. This certificate indicates that students have the necessary English proficiency to participate in a full range of introductory math/science, social science and humanities courses in an American college or university, including any regular freshman writing course.

* High Intermediate Certificate: Receive this certificate after passing one quarter of advanced classes OR passing Introductory College Bridge.

* Advanced English Certificate: Receive this certificate after passing two quarters of advanced classes OR passing Intermediate College Bridge.

These certificates indicate a student can function at a high level in an English-speaking environment.
