an experimental server featuring links to French-related resources on the Web of interest to university-level teachers and students. This server is dedicated to the promotion of French world-wide.

 The story is presented as 12 interactive texts. The webmaster has glossed the difficult words and shown their meanings through images and sounds. For example, when you scroll over the word “merle,” which means blackbird, you hear the song of the blackbird and see an image of it. The website includes an English translation, comprehension questions and related grammatical study. You can also listen to the text in its entirety, as well as read about historical information related to the time period and area in which it was written.

Another website, http://www.senegalaisement.com includes Senegalese news, cultural and tourist information.

Another site, http://phonetique.free.fr/alpha.htm has quite a few excellent exercises on pronunciation, starting with the alphabet and going through a variety of letter combinations and words. It also has games to practice spelling and phonetics, as well as tongue twisters.
