WINTER 2012

Great Community Contact Hour Opportunity:
Deaf Bowling Social, February 11 (20 points)

2nd Annual High School ASL Silent Camp, March 16 -17. (50 points)

This is for high school ASL students only, and it's an overnight camp for two days. It's 75 bucks, and it's this whole thing where you get stuff and stay over night, watch movies, socialize, play games. You get the idea. Kind of like Church Camp but for ASL. Fun times (seriously, this can be fun). If you're a Running Start student, you should check this out, but you'll probably need parental permission and all that. I think it's definitely worth 50 points.

Starbucks Coffee Meet Up. Thursday, Jan 19 and Feb 16th. (20 pts)

Every quarter, I get panicked emails the first week from students who have problems running streaming videos on their computers. First, take a DEEP BREATH - there's time to get this worked out, and even then, you've got the computer lab in BE3148 while you're struggling with the tech problems.

Now, I created a webpage for you, so you can check on your options for media players and how to troubleshoot your computers. I'm not a tech guru, but I'm sharing what I know.

Click on this link to explore your options for Media Players.

p.s. We do NOT use youtube for any of our vidoes. If it's on youtube, it's not ours. Youtube is great for looking stuff up and exploring different things, but there is very little quality control, and keep in mind that any idiot can claim they're an expert on something. If you find a youtube video, you're curious about, ask me. I'll check it out.

GOOD LUCK!
