Expressive Activities:

Part A:
1.
Take turns, describe your parents using contrastive structure  in the following order:

            a. parent
            b. height
            c. body type
            d. hair color
            
e. hair style
            f. any defining features (nose shape, scar, freckles, beard,    
                            mustache, etc.)

 

2. Partners to a) repeat each other's information and b) confirm or correct.
 

3. Repeat above process and substitute:

           a. siblings or family relatives

 

 

 

Part B :  "Faces"  Handout

Goals
: Topicalization
          : Use of descriptive classifiers (SASSes)
          : Use of Yes-No questions

 

Instructions: 

1. Partners, A and B to take turns
2. Pick any one face from your handout to describe to  your partner using the following order:

Keep in mind:

Gender
Race
Any distinguishing characteristics:  hair color
                                                        :  hair style
                                                        :  facial shape
                                                        :  unique facial features
                                                        :  mustache, beard, glasses, etc.

 


Begin with:

"SEE
  MAN   WHITE,    FACE  DCL "long" , MUSTACHE DCL 
"average"  SEE?"

"SEE   WOMAN 
ASIAN, HAIR DCL "page boy"  SEE?

                   

 

3. Partner B looks for face on handout and nods.

4. Partner A gives 2 or more facts about that person.

5. Partner B to repeat back info to his/her partner.

6. Repeat process until entire handout is completed.
