ASL Classifiers
Signs that are used with noun signs, and carry meaning
only in the presence of the noun signs.

Perimeter and Border Classifiers
Use the "1" hand for outlines and
the "G" hand for borders.

 

  

Depth and Width Classifiers
Used to show 3-dimensional objects.
Items are described by their shape and relative size.

 

  

Instrumental Classifiers

These classifiers show how the items are manipulated.
They commonly follow depth and width classifiers in a sentence.

Whole Object Classifiers

These classifiers represent entire objects.
They are the most commonly used classifiers and
they have several sub-categories (vehicles, animals,
people, body limbs, objects,
