Script for Lou Fant’s 20 Classifier Sentences
1. There was an Earthquake. When the quake hit, it split the earth into two. One half of
the earth fell two feet below.
2. There was a flood. It went over the roof of a house.
3. There was a house on the side of a hill. There was a landslide. The house slid down
with the landslide.
4. A tornado hit. The high winds caused a tree to topple over and crush a car
parked across from the tree.
5. There was a leaky faucet that was dripping water. The drip was annoying so I put a
cork in the mouth of the faucet and finally it stopped the drip. Yes!
6. I held an egg in my hand. It is small and has blue speckles.
7. I was bouncing a ball. I bounced it hard and it hit my forehead. As a result, I got a
lump on my forehead. Ah well.
8. On a wall is a picture with a very slim wooden frame.
9. The third house on this row of houses is where I live.
10. There is a brick wall. The topmost layer of bricks was cracked and pieces of brick had
fallen down.
11. There is a wooden cane. It is not an ordinary straight cane, the part after the handle is
gnarled and there are curves (esses) down the leg of the cane.
12. A house has a gutter that goes along the side of the roof with a drainpipe that is
connected to it down to the ground. Well, the second part of the pipe that connects to
the gutter has parted (split) and water is pouring outside of the pipe.
13. The lungs are connected by two veins that narrows and comes together at the throat
and splits up to each side of the throat.
14. I drew water from a well and poured this bucket of water into a large container.
15. The parking lot between the store and the church was packed full of cars.
16. Behind my house is a pond with fishes swimming in it. Nice.
17. Atop a high cliff with waves pounding below, a man jumped then a parachute opened
up. The man successfully landed onto the water safely.
18. I held an AC and DC wires and when touched both emitted a lot of sparks and electricity.
19. The ringer inside a large heavy bell broke free and fell down. Not the bell, it’s
the ball ringer.
20. On an electric pole is a round object, I am not sure what it’s purpose but when
lightening hit, it hit that object and it burst into smithereens and there were
electric sparks coming off it. Whew!
