ETHICS |
VALUES |
|
Ethics are values that you share across society (or at least part of it) with others, and are generally accepted as the way that people should operate in life. |
Values are the principles that you hold dear that define how you operate in life.
|
|
Ethics means the culture or groups of moral people. |
Values means high self importance in something that people want to cherish |
|
Ethic is a belief regarding appropriate behavior. |
Value the ideals, customs, institutions (i.e. marriage) that a person has a strong emotional tie to. |
|
Something that is morally right. A rule that says what is right and what is wrong, but it is not a law Has to do with your beliefs whether political or religious; has to do with a sense of morality; rules to live by (She mentioned the term code of ethics as well.) Moral ethics- your moral standpoint, the difference between right and wrong- good and bad; doing the right thing: examples- being honest, dont cheat, etc. |
Ethics are the way people physical act on those beliefs.
Values are the way people personally
feel about things and the way they act. The way people are in public show
the kind of values they have. All people have some kind of values, some are
good and some are bad. Values and ethics are pretty much the same thing. |
|
Ethics is your difference between right and wrong. What you personally consider to be right and wrong. It can be positive or negative. Maybe the way a dictionary describes it. Behavior as it relates to other people around you. Are like your beliefs, if someone is honest. Equate with values. A person does the right thing even if no one is around. Ethics = right or wrong. |
It means the value of something. How valuable something is (Something= whatever the object is) Rules & Habits Goodness of your work and morals. Doing the right thing How you respond to different situations Ex: If someone gives you $10 back for change but it was suppose to be $5, the ethical thing would be to give them $5 back. Its tied with integrity

Beliefs and morals. Things that are universally right and all people try to live by A system of appropriate behaviors established by a group or community A set of morals codes or values that you live your life by Ethics is your difference between right and wrong. |
What is most important to you. Where you spend your time and money: that defines your values. For example: Family. Inner beliefs/ ones that I hold most dear. Drives decisions you make. How one prioritizes ones life demonstrates ones values. Foundation of how you run your life. |

The guide lines of moral and legal issues of a certain issue of a progression. The moral code of ethics, the right and wrongs we are brought up with Morals and standards Principality of the matter, whatever that may be. Things based on a moral level
|
What is important to you
Values: What you learned while growing up in your family. What you were taught about right and wrong. Its related to how you were influenced with regard to religious values and faith. Your values are what make you who you are. |
|
Follow the guide of behaving How would you want to be treated. There are personal ethics and legal ethics, which can be different. Say for example a business deal situation: a person goes to a garage sale given by an old woman and finds something worth $10,000 and figures they are getting a good deal paying a pittance for the item which is far below its true value. That is an example of something you could do but should you do it? Following the Golden Rule requires you to ask yourself Would I want someone to do that to me? Would I want to be taken advantage of? What is Ethical can be a weird line. I believe every thing is black and white. Many others in society find mostly gray area. Ethics are defined by each individual or can be defined by a company. Each persons ethics are different. Something that is not ethical means it is wrong or not right. *Expanded on various types of ethics: personal, work ethics, taxes, and business ethics. |

What feels right. What I can live with. What I am comfortable with. |

To have good morals. To know when to advocate for yourself and your rights. Working hard. There is the American work ethic that can become obsessive to the extent of becoming workaholic. (UNHEALTHY) There is the European work ethic that values taking care of the self and giving your self a break to enjoy life. (HEALTHY PERSPECTIVE) I disagree with the American work ethic and am more in line with the European work ethic where you work hard but you take time to enjoy life as we all need a break. Ethics is related to morals. I grew up in Minnesota where there was a strong work ethic. The Deaf community, in addition, strongly emphasized the importance of confidentiality. Ethics is knowing right from wrong and following through with those actions. Interpreters must never to break confidentiality. |

Ethics means: What is right and wrong. Ethics is To do the right thing. Adhering to your core values and beliefs. |
|
|
Ethics is doing the right thing even when no one is watching. What you believe is right, a personal thing different values, different beliefs. Ethics: a code you base actions on Ethics are values that represent you and can be used to try to influence someone to your view point. Or to educate about your values. Ethics is a set of moral standards, rather rigid. Values are more flexible, Im not sure what the difference is. |
