Interpreter Training Program

To Whom It May Concern,

This is a letter of introduction for the Interpreter Training Program (ITP) students who will participate in a mock interpreting situation in your classroom. During Summer and Fall quarter, our ITP students are required to satisfy up to 80 hours of mock interpreting experience in the classroom. There must be a team of two students taking turns mock interpreting or providing feedback. Usually the same two students will attend your classroom for the full quarter.

The instructor in the classroom are not expected to provide feedback or evaluations only when if the instructor feels the students were disruptive to the classroom then the instructor may inform the students if there is a problem. It would be helpful to the students if the instructor will share any class handouts with the students so the students can better follow and interpret the lecture.

We wish to thank you for allowing our students to participate in your classroom to practice interpreting. As research shows, hands-on experience is the best way to prepare our students for the real world of interpreting so your willingness is much appreciated.

Please do feel free to communicate with me if there are any problems that cannot be resolved directly with the students or if you have specific expectations or requests. I can be reached at 800-729-9074 or by email: Baron@sccd.ctc.edu.

Sincerely yours,

Brenda Aron
