Who may participate

You may participate in the commencement ceremony if you have completed or expect to complete your program requirements for a degree, certificate or diploma during the 2016–17 academic year. Students who plan to take classes in summer quarter are free to march but their names will be in the following year's program.

If you have not done so already, please complete your FREE graduation application form and submit it to the Registration & Records office. Learn more about Graduation Requirements.

What to wear

Graduates must wear caps and gowns. These will be available for purchase mid–May at the Seattle Central Bookstore. Be sure to keep track of your tassels!

If there is no way the student can afford a gown they should contact Women's Programs and Student Leadership to borrow a gown that prior graduates have donated.

More detailed information about the ceremony will be provided with the gown purchase. Keep track of your tassels.

Honors Students

Any student with a cumulative GPA of 3.8 and above as of Winter Quarter is considered an Honors Student and will receive a gold tassel.

Note, qualifying for the President's List, the Dean's List, or Phi Theta Kappa is not necessarily equivalent to being on the Honor Roll because the GPA requirements differ.
