Office Ergonomics

Yoga – This class is designed as an introduction to Yoga – which means “union” between the mind, body and spirit. Movements are slow and gentle with emphasis on alignment and comfort. Students will learn how to breathe properly and are given simple techniques to help restore energy and encourage relaxation and calmness.

Self Defense – The Mind Is Your Greatest Weapon! To increase your awareness; and to be prepared. Safe Hands-on training: small-group training of three to four basic martial arts moves (rotating stations) that are primarily used for dis-engagement (from a violent encounter or from  a potential violent encounter). Possible stations: basic stick pattern and footwork; high elbow cover and thrown elbows; knees to the mid-section (or nether regions); and Pankration-style open-hand slaps. All techniques will be practiced either with pads or just in the air.

Personality Types

Conflict Resolution – Sometimes conflict happens in the workplace. It’s inevitable. Individuals come to the table with personal and collective expectations. Add to this student expectations and demands. This workshop will look at some helpful tools to help resolve conflicts in the early stages before they become full blown and unmanageable.

Retirement – Okay, you’re enrolled in a retirement plan. Will it provide enough money for you to retire on? Common wisdom says “No”. What can you do about it? I have some ideas……..Benefits Open Enrollment is here again. I’ll give you the lowdown on what is and isn’t changing for 2015.

Shots Fired! When Lightening Strikes! July 7th 6PM – 9PM Room BE1110

Friday, June 13th, 2014

While the odds of being involved in an active shooter event are as remote as being struck by lightening or struck by a bus, the impact when it does occur is so extreme that more and more Colleges and Universities are recognizing the need to develop active shooter response plans and policies, and to train their communities for this possibility.  This active shooter training is designed to provide you with best practices on how to prevent and, if necessary, how to respond to an active shooter situation.

This training covers readiness, response, and recovery from the college/university, and law enforcement perspectives.  It will focus on the behavior of active shooters and the pathway to violence.  It will also address threat assessment, dealing with the at-risk employee/student, and what to do if or when an active shooter incident were to happen on our campus.
