American Sign Language is the third most used language in the United States and Canada. There are many employment opportunities in the Deaf Studies track such as social work, educator of the deaf, mental health, and community education. Knowledge of ASL is also a bonus in any field. You will encounter ASL users in every walk of life, whether it is at work, home, entertainment activities, and out in the public.
There are many opportunities for graduates of the Interpreter Training Program to do ASL-English Interpreting in settings such as freelancing, educational settings, business, community, as well as interpreting for telephone relay services.
